In the summer of 2017, the world watched as KFC launched its Zinger chicken sandwich in America, and into space. Through a collaboration with Wieden+Kennedy and World View (a stratospheric exploration company), we engineered a space-proof KFC bucket capable of withstanding the harsh conditions of the stratosphere.
To document this unprecedented mission, we created the KFC Zinger01 Space Launch website, offering consumers an intimate look at mission preparations. The platform served as a comprehensive hub for behind-the-scenes content and detailed insights into launching a chicken sandwich into space.
On June 29, the Zinger ascended in a custom-built robotic bucket satellite, with the historic journey broadcast live across Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and kfcin.space. The mission website attracted nearly 400,000 visitors during launch week, featuring an interactive timeline, live data feeds, and a WebGL rocket complete with selfie stick, flag-waving arm extension, and the Colonel's recording on a gold cassette tape.

After a 17-hour journey reaching an altitude of 67,143 feet, the Zinger safely returned to Earth. The campaign generated massive media attention, earning 4 billion impressions with coverage from major publications including Space.com, The Atlantic, and The New York Times. "The Chicken has landed, welcome home brave space sandwich."
As Creative Director and lead for the KFC Zinger01 Space Launch website, I was responsible for the overall digital experience and execution, working closely with designers and developers.
